Charlie is a 12-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who originally came into our care with his brother, Oscar. As much as we would have loved to find them a home together, we were struggling to secure the right placement for two elderly dogs. We decided to trial a short separation, moving Charlie into another kennel for the day — and we were so pleased to see that both boys settled well on their own.
Oscar has since found a wonderful, loving home and we agreed that if Charlie showed any signs of distress, Oscar would return. We’re delighted to say that Oscar has settled in brilliantly, and Charlie has continued cracking on as normal, showing us that he’s ready to find a forever home of his very own.
Charlie is a gorgeous little boy with a super friendly nature. He enjoys human company and is good with other dogs, so he could potentially live with a calm canine companion pending introductions. Despite being 12 years old, he still enjoys his walks and likes to potter about and take in the world around him. Yorkshire Terriers are known for their loyal, affectionate personalities and bright, lively characters — and Charlie certainly fits the bill. They may be small in size, but they often have big, brave personalities!
Since being with us, Charlie has had a dental procedure where he had 18 teeth removed, and he coped with it fantastically. He’s feeling much more comfortable now and hasn’t let it slow him down at all.
As a Yorkshire Terrier, Charlie will require regular grooming to keep his fine coat in good condition and free from matting. Routine brushing at home, along with professional grooming appointments, will be an important part of his ongoing care.
Charlie is a great little dog who simply needs a loving, comfortable home to enjoy his golden years. He still has plenty of love to give and life to enjoy, and he deserves a cosy sofa, gentle walks, and a family to call his own.
Charlie will receive a Pension Plan provided for by S.A.R.A. This will cover any age related illnesses for the rest of his life.
