Peanut is a sweet 7-year-old Chihuahua who is searching for a loving forever home. Sadly, his previous owner’s health declined, and they were no longer able to care for him.

Before arriving at the centre, Peanut was in a lovely foster home where he settled well. He can be a little nervous when first meeting new people and has been known to growl initially, but with patience and reassurance he soon comes around. He is very much a women’s dog, and we would ideally be looking for a female owner who can build a strong bond with him.

True to his Chihuahua breed traits, Peanut is loyal, affectionate, and enjoys being close to his person. He loves his walks but can’t manage too much—when he’s had enough, he’ll stop, cry, and jump up hoping to be carried, preferably wrapped up in your coat, which he absolutely adores.

Peanut has walked nicely with other dogs in our care, however he would be best suited as the only pet in the household, where he can have all the attention and feel secure.

Due to his size and breed, Peanut will need coats for colder weather, which he is more than happy to have put on. He would benefit from experienced dog owners who can help him continue to grow in confidence and become more sociable at his own pace. Peanut really is a little cracker and will make a wonderfully loyal companion in the right home.
