Polly is a stunning 5-year-old rough-coated Lurcher with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She’s an absolute beauty inside and out — affectionate, friendly, and wonderful on the lead. Polly adores people and loves to spend time with the staff and volunteers here, whether that’s heading out for a walk or curling up for a snooze in her big, comfy dog bed.

She enjoys being active and will happily join you for a good walk or a bit of playtime, but she also knows how to relax and is a big fan of her nap times throughout the day. Like most Lurchers, Polly has a lovely calm nature in the home and a playful, speedy side outdoors.

Grooming:
As a rough-coated Lurcher, Polly’s coat will need regular brushing a couple of times a week to keep it tidy and free from tangles. Occasional baths and a quick trim around the face or legs will help her stay comfortable and looking her best.

Exercise:
Polly will do well with two decent walks a day and some off-lead running time in a safe, enclosed area if possible. Lurchers are sprinters rather than marathon runners — she’ll enjoy a burst of energy followed by plenty of rest and cuddles!

Health:
Polly is in good health, and regular vet checks will help ensure she stays that way. She loves her food and treats, so keeping an eye on portion sizes will help her maintain a healthy weight.

Polly has been grumpy with some dogs and fine with others, so she’d suit a home where any introductions are done slowly and carefully — or she’d be just as happy being the only dog where she can soak up all the attention!
