Three Little Kittens – Looking for Their Forever Homes ❤️
These three little kittens arrived at S.A.R.A as strays after being found all on their own, with no mum anywhere to be found.
From their size and development, we believe they were only around 6 weeks old when they were found — far too young to be out in the world without their mum. Sadly, we have seen situations like this far too many times, and we can't help but wonder whether these little ones had been dumped and left to fend for themselves.
They were understandably very scared when they first arrived. Everything was strange and frightening, and they had already been through far more than three tiny kittens should have.
Thankfully, with plenty of patience, cuddles and, of course, lots of squishes, they have really started to come around. ❤️ They are learning that people can be trusted and that being picked up for a cuddle isn't something to be frightened of.
🥰 Together They've Been Through It All
We are hoping to find them homes as a single kitten and a pair, depending on the individual personalities and which kittens are best suited to each other.
However, we would absolutely love to see all three go to the same home if the right family comes along.
They have already been through so much together, and there is something really lovely about the thought of them being able to grow up together rather than having another big change in their lives.
Whether they find a home as a trio, a pair or individually, their new families will need to understand that these are still very young kittens who are learning about the world.
🐱 What Kittens Need
Kittens aren't tiny versions of adult cats — they are busy, inquisitive little creatures who need plenty of time, attention and guidance while they grow.
Their new families will need to provide:
🏡 A safe and secure home where they can settle.
🍽️ A good-quality, age-appropriate kitten food.
💧 Fresh water available at all times.
🚽 Clean, easily accessible litter trays.
🧸 Plenty of safe toys and enrichment.
🪶 Opportunities to play, chase, climb and explore.
🪵 Appropriate scratching posts and surfaces.
🛏️ Warm, comfortable sleeping areas.
❤️ Lots of patience, affection and gentle handling.
🩺 Appropriate vaccinations, neutering and ongoing veterinary care.
🐾 Plenty of socialisation and positive experiences as they grow.
Kittens need lots of play and interaction, but they also need plenty of sleep. Their new family should allow them to rest undisturbed when they need to.
🏡 Indoor or Outdoor Cats?
These little ones could potentially become indoor cats or cats with safe outdoor access, depending on the home and the individual kitten.
🏠 Indoor Cats
If they are going to live indoors permanently, their home needs to provide much more than food, a litter tray and a sofa!
Indoor cats need plenty of mental and physical enrichment to keep them happy. Their home should include opportunities to:
Climb and explore.
Scratch.
Play and chase.
Hide and retreat when they want some quiet time.
Watch the world from safe windows.
Use interactive toys and food puzzles.
Have regular play sessions with their humans.
If two or three kittens are going to live together indoors, there should be enough resources for everyone, including multiple litter trays, food and water areas, beds/hiding places and scratching opportunities.
A well-enriched indoor home can be a wonderful environment for a cat, but their family needs to be prepared to actively provide stimulation and companionship.
🌳 Outdoor Cats
If they are going to have outdoor access, their new family must understand that they cannot simply be allowed outside as soon as they arrive home.
They will need to be kept safely indoors while they settle into their new home and bond with their family. Once they are old enough, fully vaccinated, neutered and properly settled, outdoor access can be introduced gradually.
Their new home must have a safe outdoor environment, and adopters need to consider nearby roads and traffic carefully. We would not consider a busy or dangerous location appropriate for a kitten who will eventually have outdoor access.
🚪 Settling Into Their New Home
Whether they are going to be indoor or outdoor cats, these kittens will need time to settle.
A new home can be overwhelming, particularly for kittens who have already experienced fear and uncertainty. Their family should give them a quiet, secure area initially, allowing them to explore their new surroundings gradually.
Outdoor access must wait until they are properly settled, old enough, vaccinated and neutered.
There is absolutely no rush — their safety comes first.
❤️ They've Come Such a Long Way
It is hard to imagine that these little ones who now enjoy their cuddles were once three terrified babies who had been left without their mum.
They have already had to be incredibly brave, and we're so proud of how far they've come.
Now they need the next chapter of their lives to be filled with security, love, playtime, cuddles and all the mischief that comes with being a kitten! 🥰
We would love nothing more than to find them a wonderful home together as a trio, but if the right homes come along for a pair and a single, we will make sure each kitten goes where they can thrive.
They've had a difficult start — now they deserve the very best future.
