Meet Nala – a 5-month-old German Shepherd pup looking for her forever home. Nala is everything you’d expect from a young shepherd: gorgeous, bouncy, curious, and full of fun. She’s already showing great promise, walking nicely on the lead and enjoying her outings alongside other dogs at the centre.

As a typical German Shepherd, Nala is intelligent, loyal, and eager to learn. This breed thrives on structure, guidance, and positive training, and Nala will benefit from an owner who can continue building her confidence and skills. German Shepherds are known for forming strong bonds with their people, and Nala is at a wonderful age to develop into a devoted companion.

At 5 months old, Nala is likely approaching a key developmental period often referred to as a “fear stage.” During this time, puppies may become more sensitive to new experiences or react cautiously to things they previously ignored. This is completely normal, but it highlights the importance of calm, positive exposure to the world around her. Gentle reassurance and consistent training will help her grow into a confident adult.

Ongoing socialisation will be essential for Nala. Continued positive experiences with people, environments, and other dogs will help her develop into a well-rounded and secure dog. She has already shown she can interact well with other dogs and could potentially live with another well-socialised, neutered dog who can be a good role model.

Nala could live with children aged 8 years and over who understand how to behave respectfully around a young, energetic puppy. As she is still learning, a home ready to continue her training, provide enrichment, and channel her energy in positive ways will suit her best.
