About Noodle

Loving and Affectionate: Noodle adores people and thrives on human companionship. She’s a sweet and friendly girl who loves nothing more than being close to her humans and sharing affection. All Greyhounds love a sofa snuggle, that’s if you can fit on it with them!

Noodle is far from slowing down. She enjoys getting out and about and loves her long walks and the free run pen, especially if you have some squeaky toys.

What Noodle Needs:

Noodle could potentially live with another Greyhound as she gets on quite well with the other large breed dogs, like Pepsi, here at the centre.

Noodle has been living in a home for a year so is well used to domestic life.

Active and Secure Lifestyle: A secure garden to relax in and daily walks to keep her body and mind active would be perfect. She’s a great match for someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as she does.

Noodle is a spirited and loyal companion who’s ready to bring joy, love, and energy into the right home. If you’re looking for a devoted walking buddy and affectionate friend, Noodle could be the one for you.

Greyhounds have unique needs and traits due to their breed history and life experiences, especially former racing Greyhounds like Noodle. Here’s a guide to consider for his successful adoption:

  • Space and Exercise

Moderate exercise. Greyhounds are known as “sprinters” rather than long-distance runners. While they need daily exercise, a few short bursts of play 20-30 minute walks will usually suffice.

A safe and fenced area: Given his enjoyment of playtime in the free-run pen, a fenced garden or access to a secure area is ideal. Greyhounds usually have a strong prey drive and may chase after small animals, so keeping them leashed in unfenced areas is crucial.

  • Managing Prey Drive

Reactive to cats: As a former racer, Noodle’s prey drive can make her reactive towards cats and small animals. Ideally, she should be the only pet or paired with larger dogs, which she feels comfortable with and is used to.

  • Health and Grooming

Sensitive skin and low body fat: Greyhounds have thin skin and very little body fat, making them sensitive to cold and heat. A coat or sweater during colder weather is essential, and she should always have a soft bed to prevent sores from lying on hard surfaces.
