Rolo is an 8-year-old Jack Russell mix bursting with energy and charm. A real affable little chap, he thrives on companionship and play—whether you're out on a walk, supervising free-run play in the pen, or tossing his favourite toys. Rolo is bright, food-motivated, and always game for fun.
Ideal Home & Daily Life
Rolo needs an active owner who can match his zest for life. Jack Russells are renowned for their high energy, intelligence, and bold spirits—they do best with at least an hour of daily exercise, combining walks, play, and mental stimulation. Otherwise, they may resort to barking, digging, or destructive behaviours to entertain himself. Rolo would thrive in a home with a secure garden and brisk morning or evening walks. He’d also do well with food puzzle toys or agility-style games to keep his mind busy.
Training & Personality
True to his breed, Rolo is smart, tenacious, and occasionally stubborn—but his strong food drive makes training a joy! Reward-based methods with high-value treats work wonders. While he loves people of all ages, he may be better suited to families with children aged 12+, preferably those familiar with energetic dogs. His Jack Russell heritage means he’s confident, fearless, and spirited—but affectionate once he trusts you .
Dog Interactions & Social Needs
Rolo has shown reactivity to other dogs, often barking or lunging on lead—but it’s not aggressive, more excitement and assertiveness. For his wellbeing, we recommend a single-pet household where he’s the centre of attention. With patient training, calmer environments, and distance-based strategies (like recall-focused work), he could improve—but for now, a one-dog home ensures his comfort .
Health & Maintenance
Thanks to his Jack Russell roots, Rolo is generally healthy and robust. He’ll benefit from routine vet visits to monitor for breed-related conditions like patella issues or eye concerns. His coat is low-maintenance—weekly brushing is usually enough, and bathe only as needed. A balanced diet, portion control, and dental care should keep him in top shape.
What to Expect
Daily energy outlet: At least 1 hour of structured activity (walks, play, toys)
Job-based fun: Puzzle toys, obedience games, or basic agility to satisfy his mind
Secure outdoor access: A garden that’s escape-proof—Jack Russells are natural diggers and jumpers ( he’s certainly bouncy in his kennel).
Lead training & distance handling: To manage his reactivity—ideal with calm, food-reward training.
Family fit: Loves people, can suit teens or adults, especially those accustomed to lively terriers
Single-pet preference: May flourish best as the only dog in the household
Rolo is an affectionate, bold, and intelligent little dog who dreams of an active, loving home. With the right family—one ready to keep him mentally and physically challenged, and give him the focus and guidance he craves—he’ll blossom. Rolo’s loyalty, and endearing personality make him an amazing companion for the right fit.
