Snookie came into our care as a stray, alongside her litter of kittens. Sadly, one of her little ones didn't make it, but Snookie did a wonderful job of raising her remaining babies, giving them the care and attention they needed during those early weeks.
From the moment Snookie arrived, it was clear that there was something concerning about her own health, as her nose was extremely enlarged. She was examined by a vet, who advised that she would first need to finish raising her kittens before further investigations could take place. Once her babies were weaned, a biopsy was carried out, and we are currently waiting for the results to come back.
We are keeping everything crossed that we receive positive news and that Snookie can get the treatment she needs. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her health, Snookie has always been well in herself. Apart from her enlarged nose, you wouldn't necessarily know that anything was wrong with her.
Now that her mothering duties are over, this lovely girl deserves the chance to find happiness of her own. Snookie is a very affectionate cat with a loving nature, and she has so much love to give. She deserves a second chance with someone who will cherish her and give her the safe, comfortable home she has been waiting for.
🏡 Snookie's ideal home
Snookie would prefer to be the only pet in the household, where she can enjoy all the attention without having to share her space with other animals. She could live with children aged 8 years and over, provided they understand the importance of being gentle, respecting her boundaries and giving her time and space when she needs it.
Snookie has been used to living outdoors, so she will need access to the outdoors once she has settled into her new home. It is essential that her home is in a safe area, well away from busy roads and high-traffic areas, to help keep her safe when she begins exploring outside.
When moving into a new home, cats should be kept indoors while they become familiar with their surroundings and begin to recognise their new home as a safe place. We generally recommend keeping cats indoors for around 6–9 weeks, depending on how well they settle. Outdoor access should then be introduced gradually, once she is comfortable and confident, and only if the surrounding area is safe.
We are currently waiting for Snookie's biopsy results before confirming when she will be ready for adoption and what ongoing care she may need. We want to be open and honest with any potential adopter about her health, so that we can find the very best home for her.
Snookie has already been through so much, and now it is her turn to be cared for. We hope someone will look beyond her unusual appearance and see the beautiful, affectionate girl she truly is.
Could you be the person to give Snookie the second chance she deserves?
